Be Honest

First off before anything this just me being impatient, can't can't get things off my mind, and the lack of sleep since it's nearly 3 in the morning as I type this. So I apologize for the bitch feast. I'm not sure how to put this without being nasty about but what is so unappealing about my art? Is it because I don't do NSFW nor take commissions? The whole commission thing is do to a simple fact of me working in retell and having a lot of stress and if I took commissions on top of that the quality would drop quickly and if you pay close attention to my art you can tell what mood I'm in. For the NSFW part I'm really not into that stuff. I mean I can and have drawn it before depending on mood but I don't want to relay on it just to get somewhere. I've just grown tired of doing this of 9+ years now. So just tell me what I'm doing wrong and I'll try to improve. Please don't worry I'll be fine once I get some rest plus I'm to much of a stubborn bitch to quit anyways. Yay.....

To be frank with you, I really don’t know.

It takes a lot of time to become popular when it comes to art, sure yes it stings when you feel like you’re just being ignored, but trust me, you will get recognized some day.

Now, when it comes to your examples to why you might not appealing to some.. I can tell you that doing commissions / requests won’t help much, believe me, I’ve tried to do that, yet people only took up my requests when I was still a beginner and after that, a short few of my friends took them up.

But when it comes to NSFW, it’s harder to explain, too hard for me, actually, I think Inciniumz explains it best.

So keep trying, keep practicing and keep improving, I know you’ll get somewhere, someday.

I'm not looking for popularity. I'm just looking for feedback.

- your anatomy and proportions are all over the place and faces aren't centered on the actual head sometimes, remember to flip your canvas while you draw. practice drawing from life so you can have a better idea of perspective and how objects actually have volume and mass.

- your colouring needs improvement, but it's not terrible. but it's dragged down by the next listed thing>>

- your shading needs a lot of work since it doesn't help define shapes or where light is coming from nor where a character actually is. also you shade with black and white and that's no good unless you're doing greyscale. shift the hue, saturation and then the brightness of your colour. (ex, shade a bright green with a more dark and blue version of the colour you had)

so yeah, the issue isn't any of the stuff you thought it was. it's just you needing to work on your fundamentals more. they go a long way

I actually don't shad with black but a dark blue and/or other hues (probably should push them a bit far though) unless it's animation but they take so long to do since I'm doing them frame by frame. Somehow I haven't drop the series but that's not important right now. I'm constantly flipping my canva but I've never noticed that my anatomy is off but again it's probably because I keep my head at an angle which I need to stop it. I mean ok in older drawings yes I notice it usely an hour or two after I finish a piece. I have drawn from still life before but rarely do it since voice in the back of my head keeps yelling stop even though I know there's nothing wrong but I think the main problem is since the 15 almost 16 years of nobody has given me feedback on my work not even when I was taking art in school nor the 9 years of me posting art online. I don't know how many times I've ask for feekback on work. I apologize for the rant it's just frustrating when nobody gives avice.

@Inciniumz2 ye

@FoxMew4044 yea no I feel u. it's really hard to get anyone to say anything about your art, especially critique since people are either really bad at giving it or don't wanna hurt your feelings so all they say is "it's good!". def work on pushing your colours more tho! shading with dark blue for everything makes it all look kinda samey. gotta shade on a colour to colour basis! also u should prolly talk to a therapist or a psychiatrist about that voice in ur head. either way, def try and push through with stuff! maybe come up with a practice routine so u get more used to doing it and maybe you won't hear as much complaining if it becomes normal. anyways, keep on drawing! :)

Let's not forget that alot of people don't even want to hear it. I mean if I was still a teenager I would have you told you were wrong about everything along with everyone else but now as an adult I don't care about likes nor popularity just improveing but I hate begging for it since it come off as needy or something else. Since I've noticed that nothing is improving and Googleing things don't really helps unless you're willing to read a wall of text that's useless.
